What is a yarn trail?

It's basically a shop hop held during a certail time period, created to encourage support of all the local shops within a certain geographical area. Many shop hops will include a "prize" donated by the participating shops that will be given to the winner drawn from a selection of people that visit all or most of the shops.

A yarn trail is a fun and engaging way to celebrate the local yarn store. We know how much convenience matters when it comes to your craft. That is why the LYS term exists: your local yarn shop is usually the shop closest to you. However, we want to celebrate all the LYSs in our area, and this is a great way to do that! It becomes a fun event for you, our valued customers, and a great way for the shops to engage with one another.

So how does The Texas Yarn Trail work?

The first step is to register for the trail. LAST DAY TO REGISTER: July 27th, 2024! Then you will decide if you want to add the commemorative project bag to your registration. These are limited edition bags that represent that year's trail!

During 7 days, customers will travel to each shop along the trail. We hope you will find something interesting and of value to you at every shop along the way. As proof of your visit, you will receive a 'stamp' on your Trail Guide from every shop you stop in at. Then you will turn in your stamped Trail Guide at the last shop you visit.

Most shops will have special trunk shows, classes, gift with purchase, or other events to coincide with the trail to make your visit that much more fun!

If you have visited all the shops along the trail, you will be enetered to win one of (2) Grand Prizes each valued at over $450!

*STORES WILL NOT STAMP CARDS OF THOSE NOT PRESENT REGARDLESS OF THE REASON! We understand people become ill, have to work, have family emergencies come up, etc. However, it isn't fair to others who are physically present at the store. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A STAMP FOR SOMEONE ELSE!

Our hope is that you get to experience a new place and meet new friendly faces that you may not have visited outside of the yarn trail!

We hope you will join us for the Texas Yarn Trail 2024!
